Our Work:
Clinical Partnership
Driven by our desire to learn and teach, Synapse has supported the development of clinical neuroscience collaborations in The Gambia and Ghana, with more on the way.
Korle Bu Teaching Hospital
Accra, Ghana
We launched a partnership with clinicians at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana - the third largest hospital in the continent. Through this partnership, our goals are that by 2030, KBTH performs 50+ epilepsy surgeries annually, their volume and GTR rate for pituitary diseases rises, and we develop a sustained bidirectional USA-KBTH resident training relationship.
Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital
Banjul, The Gambia
We have worked with partners in The Gambia (led by neurosurgeon Dr. John Jabang) since 2024, a partnership initially derived to build complex cranial neurosurgery capacity, we have continued to partner with this institution as it dreams up the country’s first national intensive care unit dedicated to severe neurologic disease and trauma.
